For Warner Bros.’ upcoming release of Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Liquid created a Sweepstakes page on Facebook where fans can win an Alienware(TM) M14X Laptop and the Lord of the Rings Extended Motion Picture Edition Blu-Ray Trilogy. To enter, fans merely have to “like” the War in the North Facebook page, in order to reveal the giveaway entry fields. Enter your name and your email address and you’re in! The winner is chosen at random from the pool of entries.

However, you can skew the odds! After entering, you’re taken to a page that provides the tools for each entrant to refer the sweepstakes to as many people as possible. On Thursday Will Akerlof spoke on a panel at Digital Hollywood. The session was titled: Advertising and Micro-Commerce, Games and Game Networks – Mobile, Broadband and Console – Serving Individuals and Communities of Interest. Will spoke of the integration of branding and and direct marketing techniques to maximize returns on marketing investments for a wide variety of games, on different platforms with very different revenue models.

Section 8: Prejudice is the year’s most heralded $15 downloadable shooter, now rolling out for Xbox LIVE® Arcade and will be available on PC May 4th and the PlayStation®Network this summer.

LIQUID AND EA MOBILE LAUNCH INTERACTIVE OUTDOOR “CUT THE ROPE”

Liquid and EA Mobile, in partnership with Monster Media, have launched an exciting, interactive outdoor campaign for the hit mobile game ‘Cut The Rope’. The campaign is currently live at the Hollywood & Highland shopping center in Los Angeles and Terminal 1 of Atlanta International Airport.

On Monster Media’s proprietary life-size touchscreens, pedestrians can play up to three levels of Cut The Rope, learn about other EA Mobile games, watch game trailers, and download games to their iPhones via QR codes.
